We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer - Kotlin to join our team. Working remote or hybrid is a possibility, and we also have the option to work onsite from our Brno or Prague offices.
The team builds a product-oriented Analytical Stack, collaborating closely with a dedicated Product Manager, Architect and QA, to solve real customer problems and deliver features that make a difference. We collaborate to design solutions incrementally and value ownership and responsibility. Our engineers take end-to-end ownership of their work, with the freedom to experiment, innovate, and contribute to shaping the product.
Our tech stack is built for scalability, efficiency, and flexibility in data processing
Our backend is primarily developed in Kotlin and Python, with a focus on modular microservices handling various aspects of the data pipeline, including orchestration, integration, and processing.
We deploy on Kubernetes, leveraging technologies like Apache Calcite, DuckDB, Pandas, and Polars for high-performance data processing
We prioritize distributed architecture and scalability, crafting high-quality, test-driven code while influencing technical solutions, best practices, and API design—both internally and externally
Building a fast, distributed query engine using Kotlin and Apache Calcite.
Developing algorithms for parsing and transpiling into SQL from an internal query language (MAQL) based on semantic data models.
Designing APIs, writing test-driven code, and shaping product direction with your team
Collaborating with Product, QA, and Architects in a product-focused engineering team
You have experience delivering a variety of backend features. You thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and enjoy taking initiative. You are proactive, open-minded, and enthusiastic about learning new technologies.
A robust background in computer science,
experience with object-oriented programming,
