As a Sr. Construction Project Manager, you will play a central role in managing new facility construction, capacity expansions, and major infrastructure projects. You'll oversee contractors and project teams, manage budgets and timelines, and lead both in-field and office-based initiatives to deliver strategic capital projects. Your expertise will be vital to scaling operations safely, efficiently, and on budget.
Project Ownership & Delivery:
Take end-to-end ownership of assigned construction projects, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and identifying cost efficiencies.
Direct project delivery from scope development and contractor procurement to construction, commissioning, and project close-out.
Lead project startup activities including forecasting, budgeting, and job cost tracking.
Manage major purchase orders with thorough pricing and scope reviews.
Ensure project compliance with Mariana Minerals standards and company policies.
Procurement & Commercial Management:
Evaluate bids, manage procurement, and negotiate for optimal project outcomes.
Review plans and technical diagrams to verify all required material and hardware are accounted for.
Handle change orders and claims, seeking favorable commercial resolution.
Prepare regular project reports on cost, schedule, risks, and overall quality.
Contractor & Stakeholder Management:
Maintain open communication with cross-functional teams (QC, QA, commissioning, facilities, operations).
Oversee contractor performance to ensure achievement of KPIs and deliverables.
Liaise with regulatory, permitting, and community stakeholders as needed.
Systems & Automation:
Collaborate with software engineering to advance project management tools and support ongoing automation.
Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of growth and efficiency.
Health, Safety & Environment:
Lead a "zero-harm" safety culture, conducting regular safety reviews and toolbox talks.
Ensure alignment with all HSE plans and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and manage environmental controls (dust, water, waste) during construction.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
8+ years in construction project management in industrial/mining/processing plants.
Demonstrated success delivering capital projects of $20M+ on schedule and within budget.
Skilled in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Office Suite, accounting, and estimating tools.
Proficient at reading and interpreting contracts, engineering documentation, and specifications.
Strong knowledge of construction practices, industry codes, procurement, electrical fundamentals, and accounting.
Excellent communication, judgment, and decision-making abilities in dynamic environments.
Willingness to travel up to 50% to project sites or offices.
Experience with EPC/EPCM delivery models highly desirable.
