About Pinterest:

As a Senior Product Manager for Deceptive Content, you'll own Pinterest's strategy for reducing user victimization from manufactured trust: scams, fake storefronts and merchants, AI-generated "slop" merchant clusters, and misleading commerce content. You'll partner closely with teams across Pinterest, including Policy, Operations, Engineering, Data Science, Monetization, and the Adversarial/Spam team, to keep Pinners safe as they move from inspiration to action.

What you'll do:

  • Define and deliver the strategy and roadmap for deception defense across organic commerce surfaces, aligning partners across Policy, Ops, MLE, Integrity Analytics, Data Science, and Monetization
  • Set the metrics and measurement approach for deceptive-content prevalence, victim-exposure window, cluster takedown latency, and enforcement quality, including merchant false-positive guardrails
  • Partner with the Enforcement Systems team to develop cluster- and merchant-level enforcement actions, and with the Adversarial/Spam team on shared infrastructure signals
  • Define and maintain clear boundaries with neighboring teams (Creator, Spam, Security/ATO, Text Safety, Monetization)
  • Anticipate emerging deception patterns, including AI-generated abuse, and continuously reprioritize investments

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with experience in trust & safety, fraud, scams, marketplace integrity, or adversarial domains
  • Proven track record owning ML-powered detection products and shipping enforcement at scale
  • Strong data fluency: comfortable with precision/recall/FPR, prevalence measurement, and reasoning about adversarial dynamics
  • SQL proficiency: able to self-serve data investigation and analysis
  • Demonstrated systems thinking: experience navigating complex, interconnected detection and enforcement infrastructure
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication, with the ability to drive alignment and present recommendations to leadership
  • Strong judgment on enforcement tradeoffs, balancing protection with false-positive impact on legitimate merchants and users
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience

This role involves regular exposure to deceptive and harmful content and to the experiences of people victimized by it. The team provides support and wellness resources.

In-Office Requirement Statement:
  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
