Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Architects, QA, Product, Documentation, and UX teams) to ideate, design and implement features that drive the core authentication experience for users in the Workforce and Customer identity landscape
  • Propose and align on technical strategy and tactical/long term roadmap
  • Produce technical designs, proposals, and architectural decisions
  • Develop high-quality, maintainable software components with comprehensive unit/functional tests
  • Participate in code reviews, providing feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards and security best practices
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers

Minimum Requirements:

  • 12+ years of strong hands-on experience designing & developing enterprise software using Java with Springboot
  • Deep proficiency in object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, server-side technologies, distributed system concepts(caching, asynchronous processing, multi-threading) and performance optimization
  • Expert understanding of secure coding practices, authentication/authorization protocols (FIDO2/WebAuthn, SSO, OAuth, OIDC, SAML etc.), and identity management concepts
  • Experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems and RESTful APIs
  • Skilled in debugging and troubleshooting complex java codebase
  • Passionate about writing clean, maintainable and scalable code with a deep focus on security
  • Solid experience with cloud infrastructure platforms particularly AWS and GCP and databases
  • Proven experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to work with cross-functional(Product/Design/QA) and geo-distributed teams
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers

Nice to have:

  • Experience with phishing-resistant authentications such as Passkeys, Smart Card or Okta FastPass
  • Some experience with basic UI development

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of software development experience, with at least 8 years of experience designing and building enterprise grade software using Java at scale
