From the original posting

We are building a generational brand with World, one of the leading projects in the age of AI. We're not just aiming to join the ranks of iconic tech companies; we're building something the world hasn't seen before. That's why we're looking for someone who not only brings deep experience but is excited to help invent a new kind of creative practice, without a blueprint. Someone ready to shape what a brand like this can become. We're looking for a Web Producer who can connect with users through the craft of web storytelling.

About the role:

We are hiring for a new kind of role: a web producer with a strong intuition for design and content, and a sponge for using AI tools.

You thrive at the intersection of production, project management, storytelling, execution, and measurement, turning complex ideas into web experiences that land simple, clear, and human.

The scope: world.org, worldfoundation.org, and toolsforhumanity.com. You are the project manager for how webpages on all three get briefed, planned, written, designed, built, QA'd, shipped, and improved.

The Global Web Producer owns the website experience, roadmap, and delivery. Works hand-in-hand with the Global Content Strategist owns website narrative vision and content strategy.

This is a new kind of role, so we are prioritizing aptitude, AI-readiness, attitude, and a passion for web.

What you'll do

Production & operations

  • Own the website experience roadmap and end-to-end delivery for world.org, worldfoundation.org, and toolsforhumanity.com. Translate approved business objectives and content strategy into scoped projects, effective web experiences, and reliable releases.

  • Lead web intake, production planning, asset coordination, CMS operations, implementation, QA, and continuous improvement. Partner with the Global Content Strategist, who owns the editorial vision, messaging, content architecture, and writing.

  • You will do whatever it takes to procure and produce all the inputs and assets required for web: including copy, photography, video, UI/UX design, illustrations, quantitative research, case studies, partner logos, etc.

  • You are a type A strong project manager, coordinating delivery and feedback across various disciplines: content strategist, UI/UX designers, brand designers, developers, and stakeholders.

  • We are looking for someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills, meeting with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business priorities and needs and create conditions for clear web briefs that make design and build seamless for producers, writers, designers, and developers.

  • You are highly organized, strict about maintaining processes and SLAs which ultimately allows web teams to maintain a high level of craft, rather than working in chaos. You move ideas quickly from concept to launch, balancing multiple web priorities, often anticipating needs before leadership review.

  • Own intake and backlog: triage incoming web requests, chase down missing requirements, set timelines against published SLAs, and keep stakeholders informed and unblocked.

  • You think in systems, always looking for ways to make things better and more efficient, including templatizing.

  • You are detail oriented, leaving no stone unturned and always thinking 10 steps ahead. You triple check your work so that senior reviewers can focus on strategic inputs, not QA.

  • You will have access to budget and third party vendors for photography, video, illustrations, and other visual assets. You’ll also collaborate often with the Creative Producer for video content. We’re a highly collaborative creative team, genuinely excited to help each other get things made at a high standard.

  • Collaborate with localization operations to ensure every locale ships at the same standard as English rather than weeks behind it.

  • Write and maintain the WebOps runbook (process docs, best practices and standards, CMS troubleshooting) so the process survives any single person.

  • Support the Senior Lead, Growth Marketing & SEO to uphold web governance across accessibility, brand consistency, link integrity, redirect management, and regional privacy/consent requirements.

UI/UX design & development

  • Clearly scope and outline briefs and hand-off documents at a level content strategists, writers, designers, and developers can execute with minimal follow-up: acceptance criteria, edge cases, and responsive and localized states defined up front.

  • You have a high craft standard and taste level, you are obsessed with good design and have a natural intuition and discernment. You can put together a design concept or template to articulate your vision clearly to designers. You don’t let anything ship that doesn’t meet the creative bar.

  • Use your eye to help ensure web content consistently aligns with the brand design system, with final design approvals from Head of Brand Design.

  • In a pinch, you’ve become proficient in AI web dev tools (can be through our training) and can stage and deploy website fixes.

  • Partner with internal and external teams to deliver at a high standard and on time (translations, product, ops, legal, comms, agencies, other vendors).

Content

  • Collaborate hand-in-hand with the Global Content Strategist.

  • Act as a translator between designers and copywriters to ensure content works with design requirements and best practices.

  • Comfortable working directly in CMS platform and proactively suggesting better ones if it’s not working.

Performance, SEO & experimentation

  • To thrive in this role, you must have a passion and focus for websites as a tool for storytelling and growth. This includes technical web expertise in content strategy, basic UI/UX principles, A/B testing, and web performance measurement.

  • Run the web experimentation program with guidance from the Senior Lead, Growth Marketing & SEO: form hypotheses, ship A/B tests, and personalization on the highest-traffic pages, call results honestly including the losses, and fold winners back into the design system - you don’t just ship what looks good and hope for the best.

  • Report on a fixed cadence against a fixed metric set, traffic, engagement, conversion, page health, organic visibility, tying site changes to business outcomes rather than to activity.

  • You will have a dotted line reporting to the Senior Lead, Growth Marketing & SEO, supporting them in executing SEO strategy and technical requirements, as well as maintaining a healthy website backend. You do not need SEO expertise but should be ready to be a sponge! Including supporting the Senior Lead with:

    • A data-driven approach to websites: measuring and reporting on performance using Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Search Console

    • Using these platforms to identify trending and topically related terms, and treat that data as the prioritization mechanism for what content is being produced.

    • Structuring every page for both search engines and AI discoverability: clear hierarchy, consistent labeling, citation-ready formatting, and schema so our content is surfaced and cited accurately whether someone is searching on the web or asking questions across LLM platforms.

    • Following our internal linking strategy, prioritizing anchor text and links to the hub pages designated for each subject, so our most important pages earn the authority we're building toward.

AI & ways of working

  • You do not need to be an existing expert in AI web production tools, but you are a sponge and ready to learn workflows and new ways of getting things live. You will oversee end-to-end AI web workflows with vision, clear direction, and taste.

  • You believe in and embrace AI as a remarkable tool, but don’t substitute it for human ingenuity and original thought. You have no tolerance for slop and exercise discernment when using it, knowing where it helps vs quietly degrading quality.

  • Use AI tooling deliberately and obsessively where it enables you to be more efficient and thus focus on ingenuity and craft instead of brute force (e.g., draft and variant generation, translation pre-pass, QA and link auditing, structured data).

  • You’re extremely comfortable in a start-up environment with constant change and quick to reset, able to get things done often with less traditional resources. You love that no day is the same.

  • Occasionally lead or support non-website initiatives (e.g., email newsletters, enterprise email communications).

  • Find solutions and options for getting ideas made, from finding the right partner, to figuring out the best internal process to get things done fast (e.g., sourcing a photographer for new website imagery and running a photoshoot).

  • Be based in San Francisco, excited to be in-office minimum 4 days per week.

About you

  • 5-7+ years in fields like: websites, digital content, e-commerce merchandising, digital production, lifecycle marketing, spanning both strategy and hands-on execution.

  • 3-5+ years working directly in Figma with UI/UX designers.

  • 2-4+ years of experience with website performance measurement tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs, Looker Studio, AppsFlyer).

  • Bonus: Fluency with AI web production and modern CMS, in a pinch, you can build and publish pages yourself rather than routing everything through designers and developers. You can diagnose a layout or responsive issue and write a bug ticket a developer can act on without a meeting.

  • Strong left- and right-brain skills, comfortable working across disciplines: collaborating with UI/UX designers, developers, and data scientists to balance creativity with technical execution.

  • You possess US work authorization and are excited and ready for a collaborative, in-office role in San Francisco.

  • Bonus skills (any of the following are always valued on our creative team though not necessary): copywriting, consumer brand at global scale, or a regulated / high-scrutiny category, video production, photography, SEO, product design, graphic design.Pay transparency statement (for CA and NY based roles):
