Job Overview:

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to join our team as the Enterprise GM's Chief of Staff, operating across functional teams to drive company-wide strategic alignment and transformation. This role acts as a company-level thought partner, leading cross-functional initiatives, synthesizing insights across functions, and ensuring that Coursera’s long-term priorities are executed cohesively across the organization.

At Coursera, we are entering a new phase of scale, one that demands tighter strategic integration and stronger connective systems across the company. The Chief of Staff plays a critical role in shaping those systems, enabling the company to operate with clarity, consistency, and foresight. Working across multiple executives and orgs, this role strengthens Coursera’s leadership alignment and execution muscle, driving transformation through thoughtful design and company-level coherence. The Chief of Staff operates with broad executive trust and crucially balances strategic foresight with the operational clarity needed to execute at scale.

Objectives of this role:

  • Support Enterprise GM multi-year strategies that drive financial performance
  • Drive integration across multiple functions to ensure alignment of strategy, priorities, and resource allocation
  • Enable sustainable operational excellence, including organizational cadence and governance
  • Drive strategic decision-making at the executive level
  • Shape and steer multi-function initiatives that advance Coursera’s strategy and operating model
  • Create and improve cross-functional collaboration that supports delivery of company- and org-level priorities
  • Identify and proactively address systemic organizational challenges that impact multiple functions

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with principal plus executive enabling functions - Finance, HR, EA - to develop and execute 2-3 year strategic plans that drive measurable business impact across org functions in alignment with company objectives
  • Design and implement sophisticated operating models that enable scale while maintaining agility
  • Provide strategic counsel to principal on critical business decisions, leveraging deep understanding of market dynamics, company-level goals, and internal capabilities; Provide sophisticated analysis and recommendations that include the inputs of appropriate stakeholders, including executives
  • Support multi-exec alignment on strategic priorities and resource allocation across multiple functions
  • Architect and execute complex organizational change, from concept to landing, including structural changes, process improvements, and cultural shifts
  • Synthesize insights and recommendations across multiple business areas to inform company-level tradeoffs and sequencing
  • Build and maintain influential relationships at the senior management level (e.g. VP+) across the organization to enable rapid mobilization for strategic initiatives

Required qualifications:

  • 15+ years in business management, strategy, or executive advisory roles
  • In-depth experience driving results in a B2B, preferably SaaS, revenue organization, e.g. Revenue Operations, Sales, GTM
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-year transformational initiatives
  • Track record of influencing executive-level decisions and driving organizational change
  • Deep expertise in organizational design and operational excellence
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in rapidly evolving environments
  • Superior strategic thinking and analytical capabilities
  • Outstanding executive presence and communication skills
  • Experience managing high-stakes stakeholder relationships, including at the senior management level (i.e. VP+)

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Experience managing a large, global organization (30+ FTE)
  • Track record of successful P&L management
  • Experience serving as interim executive leader
  • Experience delivering company-level transformation as a cross-functional leader
Compensation:
This role is available in the following US Pay Zones:

US Zone 1: $230,000 - $287,500
US Zone 2: $220,000 - $275,000
US Zone 3: $204,000 - $255,000
US Zone 4: $190,000 - $237,500
