The Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team is a group of dedicated professionals committed to helping Affirm scale, innovate, and provide outstanding products for consumers, merchants, and key partners. We combine legal, compliance, and policy expertise to guide growth, shape products, and build trust across our ecosystem. Our work spans multiple professional disciplines and provides the foundation for Affirm’s mission to deliver honest financial products.
About the role
We are looking for a business-minded Contract Management Specialist II to help deliver responsive, consistent contract support for the Commercial and Vendor Legal teams.
You’ll manage a wide range of agreements, support legal intake and business questions, and partner closely with Legal, Legal Operations, Revenue, Finance, Procurement, and other internal teams. You’ll independently handle routine matters while supporting attorneys on strategic, complex negotiations. This is a hands-on role that rewards resourcefulness, speed, curiosity, a continuous improvement mindset, and good judgment.
What you'll do
Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial and vendor agreements, amendments, NDAs, and other contracts
Triage incoming legal requests, support the business by answering contract and process questions, and route matters that require specialized knowledge
Coordinate contract approvals and cross-functional reviews and help keep contract matters moving toward execution
Maintain and help improve standard contract templates, playbooks, training materials, and knowledge management resources
Communicate contract positions, requirements, risks and next steps clearly and concisely to internal business partners
Identify recurring pain points and opportunities to implement process improvements that optimize for speed, efficiency, and quality
Manage and meet aggressive internal SLAs while balancing shifting priorities and escalating urgent or high-risk matters appropriately
Partner with Legal Operations, Financial Systems, and Procurement on solution design and delivery
Support ad hoc matters and special projects as the contract management function evolves
What we look for
3+ years of relevant experience in contract management, as a paralegal, or in a comparable contracting role, preferably at a fast-paced technology company
Bachelor’s degree (no JD required)
Experience using a contract lifecycle management platform; Ironclad experience is preferred
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to independently manage routine and moderately complex contract matters and recognize when attorney or specialist involvement is appropriate
Sharp judgment and critical thinking, with a track record of applying lessons learned across negotiations, template drafting, and internal guidance
Comfort operating in a high-volume, fast-moving environment where priorities may shift
Detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused
Team-first mindset: no task is too small, no problem is too big
Willingness to contribute to both shared operational work and specialized contracting matters
