About

In 1931, an engineering draughtsman named Harry Beck redrew the map of the London Underground. He ignored geography, distorted distance, and reduced the world's most complicated transit system to something anyone could read. Beck understood that when a system gets complex enough, accuracy isn't the same thing as truth. The designer's job is to make the complex legible — so people can decide where to go.

The role

Bangalore is one of WisdomAI's largest and fastest-growing engineering hubs, and much of our platform is built there. We're hiring a Design Lead to be a core design partner to that team: owning major product areas, setting the craft bar on everything that ships from Bangalore, and growing into the office's design manager as the team grows.

The work spans our whole platform. Chat on Data, Live Apps, our Slack and Teams apps, MCP, our visualizations, and a major push into agents: always-on teammates for the enterprise, grounded in Wisdom's context engine. Every one of these has to feel like the same product, built by the same hands.

Design at WisdomAI

Craft is the product. People make real decisions from what we show them. A chart that's technically correct but visually misleading is a failure. An answer that's right but illegible is a failure. Craft isn't decoration here. It's the product working.

AI-native by default. Exploration often starts in an LLM — clarifying intent, mapping edge cases, pressure-testing a direction before a single frame exists. We prototype in code, move fluidly between Claude, Cursor, Paper, and Figma, and aren't precious about toolchain. We optimize for velocity and quality.

Small and senior, on purpose. With today's AI tools, a handful of exceptional designers can have outsized impact. Everyone here owns real territory, and the team grows only when the bar stays this high. You'll work alongside a designer in Bangalore and the design team in San Mateo, directly with our VP of Design.

What you'll work on

  • Coherence across the platform. Think in systems from the context engine outward, so a definition, an answer, a chart, or an agent behaves the same way in chat, in Slack, in a Live App, and over MCP.

  • Agents. Define what a great enterprise agent feels like: how it takes on work, reports back, earns trust, asks before acting, and shows up where people already work.

  • Live Apps. Customers build anything here: a daily brief that reads like the New York Times, a pricing simulator with deep sensitivity analysis, a dashboard on steroids, a mobile metric tracker. You'll design the best of them, and the templates and primitives that let everyone else build their own — for apps and for agents.

  • The context engine. Make a deep, powerful layer of semantics, definitions, and governance legible to the people who configure it and the people who rely on it.

  • Data visualization, occasionally. Our charts are a signature of the product. You'll pick up visualization work from time to time.

What you'll do

  • Own product areas end to end, from customer discovery and problem framing with PMs and engineers through launch and iteration.

  • Work side by side with engineers every day. Make design a fast, natural part of how Bangalore builds, not a handoff.

  • Prototype early and often with AI tools, building working things rather than static frames, then carry validated concepts through full state coverage and system alignment.

  • Set the craft bar in crits and in what ships. Share prompts, patterns, and process with the team.

  • Extend our design system so new surfaces arrive coherent by default.

  • Partner closely with design leadership in San Mateo across time zones, and help hire and grow the Bangalore design team.

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years designing products, with a body of work in complex B2B, data, analytics, AI, or developer tools.

  • A high bar for craft — visual, UI, and interaction. You notice the 1px things, and you know which ones matter.

  • Impeccable taste, and opinions you can explain and defend.

  • Sharp product thinking and a talent for taming complexity: you find the simple model hiding inside a sprawling system.

  • A systems mind. You've driven coherence across many surfaces, not just polished a single flow.

  • You work AI-natively today. You design with LLMs and AI prototyping or coding tools daily, and you can show how they've changed your work.

  • You've mentored other designers and earned the trust of engineering teams, and you want to grow into leading a team.

Nice to haves

  • You code, or consider yourself one part design engineer.

  • An interest in data visualization. Experience is welcome but not required.

  • You've designed agentic experiences, or templates and systems that other people build with.

  • A background in data visualization or analytics.

  • Experience on product teams that work across the US and India.
