About the Position CQ Roll Call is seeking an experienced journalist to direct its coverage of the interaction among the executive, judicial and legislative branches. We are investing in our people and our print, digital, data and multimedia tools to enhance our storytelling and are leveraging two quality media brands with a strong history in Washington journalism.  We’re looking for someone who generates distinctive story ideas, identifies trends, uses data and produces content for multiple platforms, including CQ and Roll Call. We seek a journalist who can lead and inspire reporters to produce high-impact, enterprising stories about the relationship between the White House and Congress, as well as the judicial branch’s effect on the White House and Congress, and the influential groups and advocates that seek to influence them.   About the CQ Roll Call Team CQ and Roll Call report on political power through the lens of Congress, from the campaigns that send members of Congress to Washington to the biographies of those members, the legislative process and the people and organizations shaping it both inside the federal government and outside of it.  About You You are comfortable digging into the finer details of White House and congressional news and sourcing, as well as following court cases with significant political and policy implications.    Application Requirements:  All applicants must submit four (4) published writing samples from newspapers, news websites or news magazines that demonstrate reporting and writing ability. The position is based in Washington, DC and requires daily reporting from the Capitol. The base salary range for this position is $110,000 - 135,000 per year.   #LI-HR1
