From the original posting

Asana is investing in the foundations that help teams shape how work gets done. We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a new Warsaw-based team focused on Builder Platform capabilities: the underlying systems, experiences, and technical foundations that make Asana more configurable, extensible, and powerful over time.

This is a strong fit for someone who likes early-stage product and platform work. You’ll help define direction in an ambiguous space, build and grow a strong engineering team, and balance near-term product delivery with longer-term technical foundations. Because the team charter is still evolving, we’re looking for a manager who is comfortable bringing structure to broad problem spaces and turning them into clear plans, strong execution, and durable impact.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with product, design, and engineering leaders to identify high-leverage opportunities, shape the roadmap, and deliver platform capabilities that unlock future product bets across Asana. You’ll coach an initial group of engineers, raise the quality bar, help the team move quickly without losing rigor, and play a meaningful role in hiring and shaping the team as it grows.

We offer a Contract of Employment (UoP) for our employees in Poland.

What you’ll achieve:

  • Manage and coach an initial team of engineers, fostering an inclusive culture and creating the conditions for strong technical execution and long-term growth.
  • Partner with product, design, and UXR to turn ambiguous problem spaces into a clear roadmap, practical milestones, and high-quality shipped work.
  • Help define the team’s technical direction, balancing foundational platform investments with iterative product delivery.
  • Help hire and grow the team over time, partnering closely with recruiting and leadership as the org continues to scale.
  • Work across teams to ensure the platform capabilities your team builds unlock meaningful customer value and support future product expansion.
  • Raise the engineering bar through strong execution, sound technical judgment, and thoughtful prioritization in a fast-moving environment.
  • Play a key role in shaping a new team in Warsaw, including how it works, what it owns, and how it collaborates with adjacent teams.

About you:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years managing engineers, with a track record of helping people grow and delivering meaningful results through a team.
  • Strong technical judgment and the ability to engage deeply on architecture, technical tradeoffs, and execution strategy.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous or early-stage spaces, bringing structure without waiting for every detail to be defined first.
  • Product-minded and pragmatic, with good instincts for how to balance long-term technical health with near-term user and business impact.
  • Clear, persuasive communicator who can align engineering, product, design, and leadership partners around a coherent direction.
  • Excited by platform problems, configuration systems, builder experiences, workflow tooling, or adjacent enterprise software challenges.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, and is interested in how they can improve products, workflows, or team effectiveness.

At Asana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission. If you're interested in this role and don't meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

What we’ll offer:

  • Generous, transparent and fair compensation system (base salary and RSUs)
  • Contract of Employment (and the option of 50% tax deductible costs for author’s rights usage in respect of applicable roles )
  • Health insurance with dental and travel coverage (Lux Med)
  • Breakfast and lunch catering on the days that you work from the office
  • Vacation allowance
  • Career growth budget
  • Home office setup budget
  • Gym/Fitness card
  • Fertility healthcare and family-forming support with Carrot
  • Mental Health Support in Modern Health
  • Group life insurance
  • MacBooks with all necessary accessories

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between 43,583 - 49,500 PLN gross per month (subject to all taxes and necessary deductions). The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity and sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits. If you're interviewing for this role, speak with your recruiter to learn more about the total compensation and benefits for this role.
