About Anthropic
About the role
The Claude Platform (API) is how developers and enterprises build with Claude, directly and through our cloud partners. It runs on a consumption model, and the economics move quickly as new models and capabilities launch, serving costs change, and customer usage scales.
We're looking for a Finance & Strategy Lead to own planning and forecasting for the Claude Platform, run the business reviews that track its performance, and recommend how the products and business should evolve. You'll sit on the Product Finance & Strategy team and partner with leaders from product, engineering, go-to-market, and other finance teams to steer the growth of the business. This is a finance role close to the product: your forecasts and analyses will shape where the business invests and how it grows.
Key responsibilities
- Lead financial planning and analysis for the Claude Platform (API) business across self-serve, enterprise, and cloud partner channels. Set targets for the business and drive interlock with go-to-market partners on targets
- Build and run the rhythm of business for the Claude Platform with product and cross-functional leaders, including monthly executive reviews with clear analyses and actionable insights to grow the business
- Develop and maintain financial models and scenario analyses that show how launches, pricing changes, and commitment structures affect the forecast
- Build business cases for new platform features and products, working with product, engineering, and go-to-market partners
- Serve as a trusted advisor to product and finance leaders, analyzing usage, revenue, and cost data to flag what matters and answer complex questions
- Automate recurring reporting and lead analyses on whether pricing and new business models are working and what to change
- Partner with operations, data science, deal desk, and accounting to ensure new products are billed, reported, and forecasted accurately
Minimum qualifications
- Experience leading annual planning and forecasting for a business or product line, from assumptions through final targets
- Experience building driver-based forecasts for consumption-based or usage-based businesses, including reconciling top-down targets with bottom-up views
- Experience running recurring business reviews with executives, including explaining variances to plan and recommending actions
- Strong financial modeling skills in spreadsheets, and comfort pulling and analyzing your own data in SQL
- Experience shaping pricing, business model, or investment decisions with analysis
- Ability to partner with product and cross-functional teams and explain financial tradeoffs clearly, in writing and in conversation
- Sound judgment with incomplete data, and comfort making a call and revisiting conclusions as you learn more
- Interest in AI and a commitment to Anthropic's mission of building safe, beneficial AI systems
Preferred qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in strategic finance, product finance, FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or a closely related analytical field
- Experience with infrastructure, cloud, or developer platform businesses, and a basic understanding of how compute costs and capacity drive unit economics
- Exposure to pricing APIs, developer tools, or cloud services
- Familiarity with how large language models are served, including token-based pricing and inference cost drivers
- Background in AI, ML, or related technologies
