From the original posting

Coder is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Strategy team. In this role, you’ll own key planning workstreams across budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, helping leaders make better decisions as Coder scales.

Every enterprise deploying AI coding agents needs secure, governed infrastructure to run them. You’ll help model the demand behind that shift, partner with teams across the business, and build financial frameworks for a market still being defined.

What you’ll do here

  • Own recurring FP&A deliverables end to end, including departmental budget-to-actual reporting, monthly close packages, and rolling forecast updates.

  • Build and maintain driver-based financial models for assigned business areas, including revenue, headcount, and infrastructure cost forecasts.

  • Perform variance analysis that goes beyond what changed, framing the “so what” and surfacing insights that guide better decisions.

  • Support quarterly forecast cycles and annual budget planning by coordinating inputs from department heads and consolidating company-wide views.

  • Contribute to board materials, investor deliverables, and executive reporting packages.

  • Automate and improve recurring workflows. Push for better tools, scripts, and processes, not just cleaner spreadsheets.

What we’re looking for

  • Accounting fluency. You understand how the GL works, how accruals flow through the financials, and how actuals are produced. You can bridge the close process and the planning process without someone translating for you.

  • Financial modeling depth. You can build clean, auditable, driver-based models from scratch in Excel or Google Sheets.

  • Data fluency. You can pull, clean, and work with data from multiple systems, including ERP, BI tools, and CRM exports.

  • Clear communication. You can turn variance analysis into insight, not just a table. You frame findings in terms of business impact, next steps, and audience needs.

  • 1–3 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or a related analytical role.

  • Familiarity with SaaS metrics such as ARR, NRR, CAC, and payback period, or a strong desire to learn them quickly.

  • Comfort working in an environment where planning complexity is growing faster than the team.

  • Curiosity about AI and developer tooling. You do not need a CS degree, but you should be genuinely interested in how the technology works and how it shapes demand.

Bonus tacos if you have

  • Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition in a SaaS context.

  • SQL experience and the ability to self-serve data from business systems.

  • Experience improving recurring finance workflows through automation, scripts, or AI tools.

  • Exposure to consumption-based pricing, infrastructure cost modeling, or developer tooling.

  • Interest in building new FP&A frameworks where historical benchmarks do not exist yet.

Why Coder

  • You’ll model a market being defined in real time. AI agent workloads are creating consumption patterns, unit economics, and pricing questions that no one has fully solved yet.

  • You’ll have scope from day one. A small FP&A team means your work goes directly to the CFO and department heads. You’ll be close to the decisions, not just the reporting.

  • You’ll work in an AI-native environment. Coder’s culture is building-oriented, and you’ll use AI tools to automate reporting, accelerate modeling, and improve FP&A workflows.

  • You’ll have room to grow. As a growth-stage company, Coder gives strong analysts new problems, broader ownership, and a realistic path toward Senior Financial Analyst as planning complexity scales.

  • You’ll build transferable SaaS finance experience. Cloud development environments sit at the intersection of remote work, platform engineering, enterprise security, and AI adoption.

Our use of AI in hiring

We use AI tools to help manage our recruitment process efficiently and fairly. Specifically:

  • Ashby helps us review inbound applications by surfacing candidates who best match the role requirements we've defined. This tool does not make hiring decisions; it helps our team prioritize which applications to review first.

  • Granola takes notes during our interview calls so our team can focus on the conversation with you.

All hiring decisions are made by humans. Our team reviews applications, conducts interviews, and makes final selections. AI tools assist us but never replace human judgment, and these practices are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection, AI governance, and labor laws. Your data is not used to train AI models.

In accordance with New York City Local Law 144, an independent bias audit has been conducted on "Automated Employment Decision Tools"; results are available for Ashby.

If you're applying for a role at Coder and have questions about how we use AI in our process, or if you'd like to request information about the data we collect, please contact careers@coder.com.
