Shape the Future of AI
About the role
The Frontier Data Lead (FDL) is the Managing Director's program lead for client delivery and a key driver of account growth. A program is a set of projects in one domain with one goal, and a client can have several. You run those programs, make sure clients are never surprised, and keep our systems accurate. You also understand each partner's goals and organization deeply, connect them with our growth and research teams, and find where we can help next.
What you'll do
Client delivery and communication
- Be the proactive point of contact for every account, so no client has to ask "what's the status?"
- Send regular updates on progress, volumes, quality, blockers, and milestones.
- Flag risks, delays, and scope changes early, with a proposed path forward.
- Run client check-ins covering delivery and what's next, and capture decisions and action items.
Partner insight and account growth
- Understand each partner's research goals, model roadmap, and data priorities, and keep that view current.
- Map and build relationships across each partner's organization, beyond your day-to-day contacts.
- Spot expansion opportunities early and work with the growth team to turn them into scoped proposals.
- Own an account plan for each partner: goals, stakeholders, current footprint, and next actions.
- Lead quarterly business reviews centered on the partner's goals, not only our delivery metrics.
Research bridge
- Share partner needs and recurring data challenges with our research team to inform its agenda.
- Bring our research insights and roadmap to partners in ways that connect to their goals.
- Facilitate working sessions between partner teams and our researchers where there's shared interest.
Operations and systems
- Maintain a single, current view of every account, program, and project: status, owner, timeline, and open issues.
- Track client requests and spec changes through resolution, and confirm with engineers that project setup matches what was agreed.
- Keep the CRM, trackers, and account plans accurate, and audit them regularly.
- Prepare reporting for the Managing Director and leadership on delivery health and account growth.
- Build lightweight templates and ensure clean handoffs between sales, project setup, and delivery.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years in consulting, program management, account management, or client operations, ideally running several client engagements at once.
- Excellent written communication and comfort being the face of delivery, including delivering hard news with a plan.
- Strong organization and attention to detail across multiple accounts.
- A consultative, curious approach and a track record of expanding client relationships.
- Ability to translate between technical and business audiences, in both directions.
- Experience working closely with an executive and making decisions with incomplete information.
- Self-directed: you spot issues before they become escalations, and opportunities before they become RFPs.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI training data, data labeling, or managed-services delivery.
- Familiarity with how frontier AI labs and enterprise AI teams build and evaluate models.
- Familiarity with Labelbox or similar platforms.
- Comfort with light automation or no-code tools.
What success looks like
First 90 days
- A current inventory of every account, with status, owner, and next milestone.
- A standard update format and cadence in place for every account.
- Systems audited and up to date, with a routine to keep them that way.
- An account plan and stakeholder map for each priority partner.
Ongoing
- Clients hear about delays, changes, and wins from us first.
- The Managing Director can see the state of any account in minutes.
- Partners bring us into their planning early, and we engage more teams within each account over time.
- Partner insights shape our research agenda, and our research regularly opens new conversations.
- A steady flow of qualified opportunities that turn into new programs.
