POSITION SUMMARY

Mirum is seeking a Manager, Vendor Outsourcing, who will partner with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic outsourcing and draft, redline, review, negotiate and execute clear agreements with external business partners and providers. The types of agreements include a variety of commercial and clinical trial agreements, including but not limited to software licensing, Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, Manufacturing, Supply, Quality, Consulting Agreements and well as the full suite of Commercial agreements. This role will manage vendor relationship, including vendor selection and escalation. This role will also partner with Legal Contract team to finalize contract activities across multiple functions and domestic and international environments using an internal contract management system. The successful candidate will have significant experience in vendor outsourcing, contract drafting and negotiations with commercial and clinical vendors in the pharma industry, as well as experience working in fast-paced, start-up, high growth environments.

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead vendor end-to-end sourcing activities, including but not limited to RFIs/RFPs, bid defenses, and contract negotiations.
  • Identify and lead cost savings through rate card, incentive credits, and volume discount discussion and negotiations.
  • Support budget forecasting and market analysis by identifying key drivers that will impact vendor cost, performance and capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor relationship and management, including escalations, deviations and facilitating timely resolutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships and processes to optimize performance, mitigate risk, and support business sourcing strategies.
  • Structure, draft, redline, review and negotiate contracts: Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of contract language relative to the business need, compliance with all laws and regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support vendor management and process improvements.
  • Manage and support a CLM platform (preferably DocuSign CLM).
  • Ensure that the contract is complete, accurate and all risks have been identified to the business owner and the proper reviews/approvals completed prior to execution.
  • Work with business owners on any amendments, contract terminations, and/or contract renewals.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with internal policies and legal requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to understand business needs and align with Mirum’s corporate strategy.
  • Assist with other projects as needed/requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education /Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in commercial and clinical vendor outsourcing and contract management required.
  • Experienced professional in vendor management and contract drafting, review, redline, negotiation and finalization with the ability to understand and draft complex legal and business terms.
  • Experience with a variety of commercial and clinical vendors and agreements preferred.
  • Experience with Procurement process and ERP software.
  • Solid understanding of legal terminology and contract management software.
  • Experience in Life Science or Biotechnology industries required.
  • Familiarity with international agreements preferred.
  • Knowledge of international organizational structures preferred.
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a start-up environment.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement even in ambiguous situations.
  • Common sense, great judgement, and a good sense of humor.
