From the original posting

Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2026 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

About the role

As a Mid Market Account Manager, you will be a member of our client-facing team - responsible for the commercial relationship with our customers (Property Management Companies) within our Mid Market segment. You'll own and operate a book of business where consistency, prioritization, and process discipline matter as much as relationship depth. This is a partner role - you will act as the customer's advisor and point of contact - to maintain, retain, and grow the business relationship at scale.

What you'll do

Portfolio Management & Prioritization

  • Own and operate a high-volume book of business, prioritizing your time based on account health, engagement signals, and revenue opportunity rather than applying a uniform cadence to every account
  • Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene - accurate account data, activity logging, and pipeline/renewal tracking across the full portfolio
  • Identify at-risk accounts early using usage and engagement data, and escalate or intervene before renewal risk becomes churn

Relationship Management & Engagement

  • Establish and maintain relationships with day-to-day and senior stakeholders across your portfolio
  • Run structured, efficient touchpoints (e.g., QBRs, check-ins) calibrated to account tier rather than a one-size-fits-all high-touch model
  • Act as the primary point of contact for your accounts, looping in specialists or leadership for higher-complexity escalations
  • Attend industry events and conduct on-site visits selectively, prioritizing your highest-opportunity or highest-risk accounts - at this volume, travel is the exception rather than the default

Commercial Execution

  • Execute commercial negotiations efficiently and accurately across a large account count
  • Identify and act on upsell/cross-sell opportunities surfaced through data and playbooks, applying repeatable plays rather than building bespoke account strategy for every account
  • Contribute to and help refine the playbooks, segmentation logic, and tooling that the Mid Market motion runs on as the segment matures at Flex

Key qualifications

  • Account Management Experience: 2-4+ years in Account Management or Customer Success, ideally managing a book of business at volume (multiple concurrent accounts, not a small handful)
  • Experience owning renewals and standard commercial negotiations; comfortable operating within defined playbooks and pricing parameters rather than bespoke deal structuring
  • Process Orientation: Strong organizational and prioritization skills - proven ability to triage a large portfolio and direct time to where it has the most impact
  • Data-Driven: Comfortable using account health, usage, and engagement signals to identify risk and opportunity, and to decide where limited time is best spent
  • Strong Communication Skills: High EQ and the ability to build trust quickly and efficiently across a high volume of relationships
  • Tech Proficiency: Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM is a plus; experience with customer success or health-scoring tooling is a plus
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams
  • Self Starter: Comfortable operating in a segment where process, tooling, and playbooks are still maturing, and willing to help build them
  • Quick Learner: Ability to adapt, learn, and iterate swiftly within the rapid changes in the PropTech/FinTech landscape. Comfortable with ambiguity and a test-and-learn mindset
  • T.O.E: Last, but certainly not least, Team Over Everything. Our positive, team first culture is everything here at Flex. This role requires an even temperament that is always willing to put the team ahead of individual recognition.

Compensation

The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks. This is a commission earning role. The OTE (On Target Earnings) listed below:

OTE (NYC/Bay Area, Los Angeles, Seattle)
$104,000$130,000 USD
OTE (Salt Lake City, all other USA cities)
$88,400$110,500 USD
