From the original posting

Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is building the payment layer for life's financial obligations, giving households one place to see, split, and pay their bills around how they live and get paid. By offering greater choice over how and when payments are made and allowing eligible on time payments to help build a positive credit history, Flex puts households back in control of their cash flow.

About the role

The Consumer Protection Team (CPT) is Flex's internal champion for the customer, setting the standard for excellence across the customer journey, and pushing the company to create greater, tangible customer good. At Flex, we serve our customers for their most critical expenses – which means this team must set the bar exceptionally high.

As a Senior Manager, you’ll partner directly with the Senior Director of the Consumer Protection Team to drive some of our highest-impact projects. This is an exceptional opportunity for a gritty, entrepreneurial problem-solver with a genuine commitment to consumer impact, able to toggle between strategy and execution. Working closely with Strategy & Operations, Analytics, and customer-facing departments such as Product and Customer Success, this role will identify and quantify customer experience insights and pain points, collaborate on solutions, and build the customer-first system required to achieve our ambitious goals for the future. The ideal candidate must have a passion for customer impact, robust analytical toolkit, strong collaboration skills, and the tenacity to solve problems and drive prioritization through uncertainty. This role will provide frequent exposure to Flex’s Executive Team, giving hands-on experience with what it takes to lead and operate a world-class consumer fintech. The ideal candidate will be comfortable producing both rigorous data analysis and exec-ready deliverables from day one, working autonomously or together with your team.

This is a hybrid position with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.

What you’ll do

  • Build our strategy: Partner with your team leader (Senior Director of the Consumer Protection Team) to set strategy and translate it into tangible near-term goals and frameworks that ensure tight execution.
  • Identify what matters: Apply your business knowledge and analytical skills to pinpoint the challenges that matter most, then partner with Analytics and Data Science to rapidly test new hypotheses and build lasting infrastructure around the insights you discover.
  • Drive cross-functionally: Work with Product Managers and other functional leads to ensure we are effectively prioritizing customer experience priorities across the business.
  • Influence the organization: Distill progress into executive-level reports, facilitating reviews to ensure the right strategic conversations are had. Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, navigating complex problem sets with agility.
  • Deliver with velocity: Manage a diverse portfolio of projects, adapting rapidly to shifting priorities. Operate at top-decile levels of speed and productivity, dealing constructively with pressure and debate.

Key qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in management consulting and/or S&O, Biz Ops, or Chief of Staff roles at high-growth companies
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, energized by the ambiguity and pace of 0-to-1 building
  • Thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and maintain composure amid competing priorities
  • Exceptional conceptual thinker who can move fluidly from strategy to execution and make amorphous problems tractable (“fog sculpting”)
  • Strong bias for action, paired with obsessive attention to detail and a high bar for work quality
  • Well honed interpersonal skills; able to drive results through others without compromising relationships and rapport
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator, able to distill complexity into clear, executive-ready narratives
  • Exceptionally analytical, adept at identifying the right metrics and rigorously interrogating data, both independently and through others; SQL proficiency preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated AI fluency: you actively leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, improve team workflows, and drive better decisions, and you set the standard for how your team uses them
  • Genuine passion for “doing right” by our customers; we care about our mission, and you should, too!
