The role also involves contributing to quality improvement initiatives and maintaining high standards of patient care.

From the original posting
We are growing our vascular team and building out the follow-up pathway that sits behind the Neko Body Scan. When a scan raises a vascular flag, such as a low ankle-brachial index, a difference in blood pressure between the arms, or asymmetry on our Spectrum Gen 2 imaging, a member is referred for a follow-up examination. You will carry out those examinations.
This is a senior role within a small, close team. You will scan and report your findings, work closely with our Vascular Specialist, who makes the clinical decisions and referrals, and help shape how the pathway runs as it scales. You will also be a vascular reference point for the doctors and operators who perform first-line measurements in our clinics.
Perform and report arterial duplex ultrasound of the lower and upper limbs for members referred through the vascular follow-up pathway.
Carry out repeat ankle-brachial pressure index (ABPI) with Doppler, and toe pressures or toe-brachial index where the pathway calls for them.
Carry out the examination requested through the pathway, record your findings clearly and consistently, and report them to the Vascular Specialist, who decides the outcome and any onward referral.
Recognise findings that need urgent action, such as suspected critical or acute limb ischaemia, and escalate the same day through our agreed emergency pathway.
Flag it to the Vascular Specialist when a request does not fit what you find, explaining your reasoning, so they can decide the next step.
Support quality and pathway improvement: contribute to protocols and SOPs, take part in audit, and help us understand how well our thresholds and referral criteria perform in practice.
Maintain equipment, probe cleaning and infection control standards, and report faults promptly.
Where needed, cross-cover follow-up lists at our clinics in other cities, with notice and travel costs covered, so the pathway keeps running during leave and peaks in demand.
Uphold safeguarding, consent, confidentiality and information governance standards in all member contact.
• Registered with the HCPC, or accredited as a vascular sonographer through a recognised route such as a CASE-accredited programme or the Register of Clinical Technologists [HR to confirm accepted routes].
• A recognised qualification in vascular ultrasound or vascular science (for example a postgraduate vascular ultrasound qualification or a clinical physiology degree with vascular specialism).
• Strong hands-on vascular ultrasound experience, with the ability to scan and report your findings accurately, or to reach that standard quickly with support from our team.
• Excellent communication. You explain what you are doing and finding clearly and kindly to members who may be anxious, and you pass on findings precisely to colleagues across clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Sound clinical awareness and the confidence to escalate. You recognise when a finding may be urgent and make sure the right person knows straight away. • Willingness to travel occasionally to cover our clinics in other cities. • Right to work in the UK
Five or more years of experience, or experience supervising or training other clinicians in vascular technique.
Experience in a preventive, screening or private healthcare setting.
An interest in learning new vascular technologies.
Experience contributing to audit, service development or protocol writing.
Comfort working with digital clinical systems and structured reporting.
You will be based at our clinic in your city. We are hiring one vascular sonographer each in London, Manchester and Birmingham, and as a team you may occasionally be asked to cross cover another city. Cover is arranged in advance, and travel costs are covered.
