About Pivotal Health

Pivotal Health is the leading technology platform that helps healthcare providers get paid fairly in an increasingly complex reimbursement landscape.

Today, many providers face persistent underpayment from health insurance companies, despite delivering high-quality care. While processes like IDR (Independent Dispute Resolution) were designed to promote fairness, they’re often administrative-heavy, time-consuming, and difficult to navigate without the right tools.

Pivotal Health combines software, data, and service into a seamlessly integrated, AI-driven platform that simplifies these complex reimbursement workflows. We help providers efficiently dispute underpaid claims, reduce administrative burden, and recover the reimbursement they’re entitled to; without adding more work to already stretched teams.

Our full-service IDR solution is just the starting point. We’re building solutions that enable providers to operate with clarity, control, and confidence across the reimbursement journey.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Strategic Finance Manager to join our growing Strategic Finance team. This is a highly analytical, high-ownership role for someone who is comfortable tackling ambiguous business questions, determining what data and analyses are needed, and building the answer from the ground up.

You’ll lead high-priority financial and strategic analyses, work directly with leaders across the business, and help build financial infrastructure and decision-support capabilities needed as Pivotal scales.

This role reports directly to our Director of Strategic Finance and Analytics.

What You’ll Do

  • Own complex financial and strategic analyses from initial question through recommendation, often with limited precedent or existing structure

  • Build financial models from scratch to evaluate new products, pricing, unit economics, investments, partnerships, and other strategic decisions

  • Analyze large and sometimes messy operational and financial datasets to identify trends, explain business performance, and surface actionable insights

  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Business Operations, Analytics, Product, Growth, and other teams to gather information, validate assumptions, and get to the right answer

  • Develop a deep understanding of the operational drivers behind Pivotal’s financial performance and translate them into forecasts, models, and decision-making frameworks

  • Support forecasting, long-range planning, scenario analysis, and other core Strategic Finance initiatives as needed

  • Lead special projects and strategic initiatives from scoping through execution, including projects that sit outside traditional FP&A

  • Support investor and Board materials, including financial analysis, performance narratives, and strategic insights

  • Support capital raises and other financing or strategic transactions as opportunities arise

  • Help improve the tools, processes, and analytical infrastructure used by the Strategic Finance team as the company scales

  • Serve as a key thought partner to the Director of Strategic Finance and Analytics, flexing across the highest-priority questions facing the business

Who You Are

  • Completed a formal analyst training program in investment banking or a similarly rigorous analytical environment

  • 3-5 years of investment banking experience; additional experience in strategic finance, investing, or a high-growth operating environment is a plus

  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to build sophisticated analyses from a blank sheet

  • Highly comfortable working with large datasets and reconciling information across multiple sources to develop a clear view of the business

  • Able to independently identify what information is needed, find the right stakeholders, and drive toward an answer without waiting for a perfectly defined process

  • Strong business judgment and ability to move fluidly between detailed analysis and executive-level implications

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities and questions can change quickly

  • Advanced Excel skills and a willingness to use modern AI and analytical tools to work more efficiently

  • Strong communicator who can turn complex analysis into clear, concise recommendations

  • High level of ownership, curiosity, and attention to detail

Extra Credit if you have:

  • Healthcare or startup experience.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

We’re a collaborative, low-ego team on a mission to make healthcare reimbursement fairer for providers. While we primarily hire around our core hubs–Los Angeles and New York–we remain open to exceptional talent outside those regions. Remote and hybrid flexibility varies by role and team, and is outlined in each job description.

If you’re excited by solving complex problems and making a real-world impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Benefits Include:

  • Competitive compensation, including equity

  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage

  • Retirement savings plan through 401(k)

  • Flexible time off

  • Opportunities for company-wide connection and events
