From the original posting
Pinterest's Global Business Organization partners with advertisers, agencies and the wider industry to grow Pinterest's business. This role owns how Pinterest shows up with key industry associations and on the industry's biggest stages, from 3C Ventures, the IAB, the ANA and the MMA to marquee moments like CES and POSSIBLE. You'll be the connective tissue between Pinterest's leaders and the external industry across the U.S. and Canada, shaping visibility, influence and reputation across the advertising and marketing landscape.
What you'll do:
- Serve as Pinterest's day-to-day contact for key industry associations — including 3C Ventures, the IAB, the ANA and the MMA — leading memberships and commitments, delivering against contractual obligations, and finding new ways to grow Pinterest's visibility and influence within these organizations.
- Know the industry and these associations inside and out: ensure Pinterest is getting the most value out of each membership, and recommend where to deepen, sustain or exit a relationship when it's no longer earning its keep.
- Partner with Sales leadership to make sure membership benefits (introductions, visibility, data, access) are actually being used and translating into value for the business.
- Inform Pinterest's speakership strategy and lead execution across key U.S. and Canada industry moments — including CES and POSSIBLE — sourcing, pitching and securing speaking opportunities that match the right Pinterest voices to the right stages and ladder up to business priorities.
- Develop programming — talking points, fireside chats, client panels and more — for Pinterest's owned events and industry events across the U.S. and Canada.
- Support programming for occasional agency events (e.g., WPP Stream) and large client moments, such as an executive panel at a major client's company-wide gathering or a top-five agency holding company event.
- Prepare and support internal spokespeople and executives for speaking engagements, developing briefs, talking points and narratives in partnership with Comms to establish a consistent, compelling Pinterest story across every stage moment.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing and Comms to prioritize the highest-impact opportunities and reconcile competing perspectives.
- Track, measure and report on the value and impact of memberships, event investments and speaking engagements, and use those insights to recommend where to deepen, sustain or exit commitments.
- Use AI to accelerate research, speaker briefing prep, event planning and reporting, while applying judgment and verification to establish correctness and quality.
What we're looking for:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in integrated marketing, industry relations, communications or event marketing, with expertise in sourcing and shaping speaking opportunities at major industry events.
- Experience managing industry association memberships or similar external relationships, including evaluating their value and making recommendations on where to invest or pull back.
- Experience preparing spokespeople and executives for stage moments, including developing briefs, talking points and narratives in partnership with communications teams.
- Experience leading the end-to-end delivery of events and activations, including sponsorships, panels, logistics, budgets and timelines across multiple moments at once.
- Experience building effective relationships with senior stakeholders, including Sales leadership, and reconciling perspectives to prioritize the highest-impact work with limited guidance.
- Expertise in written and verbal communication, with the ability to represent a company credibly to external organizations, clients and agency partners.
- Demonstrated experience using AI to accelerate research, briefing and reporting, with a clear approach to validating accuracy and quality.
- Strong track record of critical evaluation and verification of AI-assisted work, with high integrity and ownership: you protect sensitive data, avoid over-reliance on AI and remain accountable for final decisions and deliverables.
- Willingness to travel for key industry events, client events and speaking engagements as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as marketing or communications, or equivalent experience.
In-Office Requirement Statement:
- We recognize that the ideal environment for work is situational and may differ across departments. What this looks like day-to-day can vary based on the needs of each organization or role.
- This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/month and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
