About the Role

Motive is scaling fast, and our Quote-to-Cash engine needs to keep up. The QTC pipeline processes 5,000+ daily orders across 100k+ customers and is critical to IPO readiness and SOX compliance.

As a Senior Enterprise Systems Engineer on the QTC team, you will be a senior member of the engineering team that builds and maintains Motive's Quote-to-Cash stack: Salesforce CPQ, Zuora Billing, Zuora Revenue (RevPro), NetSuite, Vertex, and n8n/MuleSoft integrations. You will tackle some of the most impactful engineering challenges in the company: ensuring every order flows seamlessly from quote to billing to revenue recognition without manual intervention or data gaps.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for an engineer who has lived in the Quote-to-Cash or Lead-to-Cash space for years and understands how quoting, billing, revenue recognition, and ERP systems connect. You will solve problems around order automation, billing accuracy, integration reliability, and proactive monitoring that keeps our revenue pipeline healthy as we scale toward an IPO.

We believe in an "everyone is a builder" mentality. Everyone on this team is capable of being a forward-thinking engineer, not just executing tickets but shaping how systems are designed and built. You will build headless apps that surface QTC data and workflows where users already work, and you will leverage AI to accelerate how we work, from agentic development workflows to AI-assisted order processing and intelligent automation across the stack.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable technical solutions across the Quote-to-Cash stack, which today includes Salesforce (Sales Cloud, CPQ), Zuora Billing and Revenue (RevPro), NetSuite, Vertex, and n8n/MuleSoft integrations.
  • Configure and customize Salesforce platform components, including Apex, Flows, Triggers, Batch classes, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL/SOSL, to solve complex business requirements across the QTC lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce, Zuora, NetSuite, and third-party systems using SOAP/REST APIs and middleware (n8n, MuleSoft).
  • Drive integration health across the QTC ecosystem, building proactive monitoring, alerting, and SOPs to detect and resolve failures before they impact customers or revenue.
  • Partner with Product Management, QA, and business stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and deliver applications and enhancements in an Agile, sprint-based environment.
  • Deliver quality applications and support within a SOX compliance control environment with rigorous change management.
  • Establish and uphold engineering best practices, standards, and operational guidelines with a focus on platform reliability, performance, and serviceability.
  • Stay current on QTC system releases, new features, product roadmaps, and third-party applications. Evaluate and recommend emerging capabilities, including Salesforce RevCloud, Agentforce, and AI-assisted order processing.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design reviews, and the Architecture Review Board to ensure solutions adhere to architectural principles and patterns.
  • Drive continuous improvement in communication, collaboration, and alignment across teams inside and outside the QTC organization.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of Salesforce configuration and customization experience: Apex, Flows, Triggers, Batch classes, LWC, SOQL/SOSL.
  • Deep experience in Quote-to-Cash or Lead-to-Cash in a SaaS or recurring revenue company, spanning quoting, order processing, fulfillment, billing, and revenue recognition.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ: quoting, pricing rules, order generation, and approval workflows.
  • Integration experience using SOAP/REST APIs and middleware (n8n, MuleSoft) to connect Salesforce with external billing, ERP, and tax systems.
  • Understanding of billing and revenue recognition concepts: ASC 606, subscription billing, deferred revenue, and AR reconciliation.
  • Experience with Zuora Billing and/or Zuora Revenue (RevPro), and/or NetSuite ERP (GL, journal entries, AR reconciliation).
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce security best practices, including the Salesforce security model, threat modeling, and least-privilege / zero-trust access models.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD tools (Copado, Gearset, AutoRabit) in a source-controlled environment.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with third-party applications using SOAP/REST APIs and middleware.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.

Nice to Haves

  • Salesforce Revenue Cloud (RevCloud) experience or familiarity with Revenue Cloud Advanced.
  • Salesforce Agentforce or AI agent building experience.
  • SOX compliance / ITGC controls experience in Salesforce.
  • Vertex tax engine experience.
  • Salesforce CPQ Specialist certification.
  • Salesforce Platform App Builder or Platform Developer I certification.
  • Salesforce Administrator, Sales Cloud, or Service Cloud certification.
  • Salesforce Agentforce certification.
