From the original posting

The Technical Content team is looking for an experienced Content Optimization Specialist who will help grow the visibility of Datadog across traditional search and AI-assisted search platforms. As part of the Community organization, you will optimize written and video technical content for search engines, answer engines, generative engines, and AI/LLM experiences while identifying new opportunities as audience needs and search behavior continue to evolve. You should understand how content is surfaced, cited, and summarized across traditional search, AI-assisted search, and agentic platforms. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience optimizing content that targets search demand from a highly technical audience and wants to apply their skills to the evolving AEO/GEO landscape.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace, in the office three days per week, to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, well-structured content that aligns with audience-specific search intent.
  • Manage on-page content optimization, including metadata, structure, and internal linking
  • Analyze how Datadog content is surfaced, cited, and summarized across AI-assisted search and agentic platforms, and use those findings to guide content optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across our Community, Marketing, and Product Management teams to ensure content aligns with SEO/AEO/GEO best practices and supports key growth initiatives.
  • Conduct keyword research and content gap analysis that inform content production and optimization.
  • Create content briefs and outlines that turn research findings into clear requirements for content development and optimization.
  • Monitor and report on the results of content optimization efforts, highlighting gains, losses, and opportunities across search rankings, earned citations, AI visibility, traffic, and user engagement.

Who You Are:

  • You have experience creating a high volume of technically accurate content for an engineering and developer audience.
  • You have a portfolio of content you’ve developed in previous roles and can show how your work contributed to measurable business results.
  • You have 3-5 years of hands-on SEO experience, with a focus on on-page content optimization.
  • You have 1-2 years of experience optimizing content for AI-assisted search and agentic platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Codex, etc.)
  • You are proficient with several SEO/AEO tools, such as Profound, Conductor, Semrush, Ahrefs, and Google Search Console.
  • You have 2-5 years of experience working as a technical content writer, journalist, or content strategist at an AI or SaaS company.
  • You stay up to date on SEO, AEO, GEO, and AI trends and know how to translate industry changes into opportunities.

Benefits and Growth:

  • High income earning opportunities based on self performance
  • New hire stock equity (RSU) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
  • Sales training in MEDDIC and Command of the Message
  • Intra-departmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • An inclusive company culture, opportunity to join our Community Guilds
  • Generous global benefits
